Importing a car into the United States
US Customs: Sometimes you can import a car into the US and sometimes you can't. US Customs Publication 520 gives you the outline of what you're facing if you want to bring that shiny new (or shiny old, for that matter) car into the US for your own private ownership and enjoyment.
Generally speaking, if its over 25 years old its pretty much smooth sailing, but if its 25 years old or less, you might be looking at serious work and serious money to bring it up to US safety and emissions standards.
