Replacing Single Ignition Coil vs Two Coil, XJS V12 with Lucas Ignition
These cars, which were manufactured up to mid-1989, came with a dual ignition coil set up, which allowed faster ignition coil charging at higher RPMs. There is now a single replacement ignition coil that does away with the old two-coil setup, at a more reasonable price. We sell it on the website and it works perfectly.Late model cars use coils instead of the traditional Cap and Rotor setup. Each cylinder has a coil attached to the top of each spark plug. These types of coils fail over time and eventually all of them will need to be replaced.
