“What shocks are best for my car?” is a question I get asked several times per week. The answer is OEM shocks. Your Jaguar’s ride was designed to take advantage of the damping and rebound characteristics of the OEM shocks. Replacing them with an aftermarket shock like KYB, Gabriel, Monroe, etc. may affect your car’s ride and handling, and your mood while driving.

I tried to cheap out once and put one of these brands on my car, and I was severely disappointed in the resulting ride of my 1987 XJ6. The shocks, which were supposed to be constructed to match the OEM guidelines, were WAY too soft. I felt like I was driving a Chrysler land-yacht instead of a sport-luxury Jaguar. Late model XJ6, XJ8 XK8, X-type and S-type model shocks must be replaced with OEM shocks which of course we supply on the website.
